Tour of Sharjah reaches historic finish at Aljada

The Tour of Sharjah 2025, formerly known as the Sharjah International Cycling Tour, concluded in a groundbreaking finale at Aljada, marking a milestone in the event’s decade-long history.
The climactic fifth stage, “Past and Future,” began at Al Hamriyah’s Heritage Village in a nod to Sharjah’s cultural roots. It concluded with a thrilling 121.87-kilometer sprint to Aljada, the transformative master community that defines New Sharjah.
HH Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, presided over the closing ceremony which honoured champions while upholding the event’s role in elevating Sharjah’s global sporting profile.
The AED35 billion cutting-edge mega-community served as a fitting backdrop for the finale, with its landscaped green spaces, innovative architecture, and sustainable urban planning mirroring the Tour’s progressive ethos.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, this year’s successful Tour celebrated record-breaking achievements while spotlighting the Emirate’s seamless fusion of heritage and futuristic ambition, with 174 elite cyclists across 29 teams and 23 nations.
Spanning 526.26 kilometers across five stages, the Tour showcased over 230 of Sharjah’s tourist and cultural sites, from desert vistas to urban landmarks, cementing Sharjah’s status as a premier destination for elite cycling.
Aljada’s continued association with high calibre sporting events reinforces Sharjah’s reputation as a global leader in culture and sport.
