Arada has been recognised in the highly contested ‘Partnerships and Collaborations’ category at the 17th cycle of the Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards for the second consecutive year.
The master developer was honoured for its response to the severe flooding that affected Sharjah and the wider UAE in April.
Led by Arada, a series of initiatives succeeded in directly helping over 11,000 people with emergency housing, food, and aid packages during the flooding crisis, in collaboration with partners including Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), Sharjah Housing Authority, UAE Rescue Team, Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH), the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and Dubai Police.
Organized by the Arabia CSR Network, the awards ceremony was held under the patronage and presence of HH Engr. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al-Khaimah.
Held ahead of the awards was the Arabia CSR & Sustainability Forum, which took place under the theme “Sustainable Prosperity: Reorienting for a Balanced Future,” bringing together global and regional leaders, sustainability experts, and industry practitioners.
Speaking at the forum, Rosa Piro, Director of the Arada Foundation, highlighted the driving force behind the success of the master developer’s response: “Our partnerships were key to delivering a swift and effective relief response, ensuring that we could mobilize resources and provide critical support to those in need when it mattered most.
“This award reflects the incredible teamwork and dedication that went into supporting areas where we operate during a critical time, and is in line with our overall mission to have a positive impact on communities.”
The Arabia CSR Network is a professional multi-stakeholder organization established in the UAE in 2004. The platform promotes, encourages, and recognizes responsible business practices through a range of services, including training, research, advisory services, third-party assurance, and the Pan-Arab acclaimed Arabia CSR Awards, as well as the biennial Arabia CSR Forum, which discusses the latest in sustainability.
The honour Arada received last year at the Arabia CSR Awards was for its “Home for a Home” initiative. This initiative, in partnership with The Big Heart Foundation and UNHCR, was recognized for its significant impact on supporting refugees in Kenya. The program resulted in the construction of over 700 homes and the development of essential water supply infrastructure, benefiting more than 40,000 people.
