Arada helps to drive narrative at International Government Communication Forum 2024

Arada took a prominent role in the recent International Government Communications Forum (IGCF), a high-profile annual event held in Sharjah, sponsoring one of the main sessions and participating in panel discussions.

Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau at Expo Centre Sharjah from 4-5 September, IGCF 2024 partnered with 35 national, regional, and global entities to highlight critical development issues and present strategic communications recommendations made by public and private sector decision-makers, thought leaders, and communications experts.

Arada’s sponsorship of the main session, ‘When “Adventure” Turns into a Soft Power’, featured HE Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations, Sharjah, alongside former UN Youth Envoy and Secretary-General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement Ahmad Alhendawi, and Swedish adventurer and athlete Annelie Pompe in a panel moderated by Bader Al Essa, CEO of Emcan Entrepreneurs Community.

In addition, Rosa Piro, Director of Arada Foundation, took part in a separate panel organised by UNHCR on refugee empowerment, alongside UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Maya Ghazal and Director General of DP World Foundation Latifa Al-Qemzi in a session that awas moderated by journalist Maya Hojeij.

Among other areas, the panel discussion covered Arada’s partnership with the UNHCR for the ‘Home for a Home’ campaign, which has resulted in the construction of over 700 homes for families in Kenya over the last two years.

The vital role of private sector support and media advocacy in empowering displaced people globally was highlighted with success stories like Maya Ghazal’s, who also appeared in an inspirational session with Arada employees at corporate headquarters on 4 September, detailing her journey as the first female Syrian refugee to qualify as a pilot.
